The National Telluride

Have you ever wondered why restaurants and bottle shops have so many different wines from a similar place, from the same producer, or the same place from different producers? Have you ever been curious what the difference between a Village wine and a Grand Cru wine is, and especially why they are priced so differently, even when they are made by the same family? Or from the same region? Welcome to the Pyramid of Terroir. Join us as we take a deep dive into terroir, the connection between the Earth, the weather, the winemaker, and the grape. We will explore a range of wines to understand how wine expresses character, how the relationship of the winemaker to the land creates unique expressions, and how small differences in location determine character, such as the difference of a slope or a vein of granite running through the earth.

To help absorb the wine, The National Executive Chef, Chris Thompson, is preparing a beautiful mediterranean inspired meal to be served family style.

Talent + Partners
Brett Zimmerman, Master Sommelier
Logan Griffin, Sommelier, Blackberry
Erin Chave, Chave Wines
Tom Monroe, Winemaker, Division Wine Company
Jay Latham, Grand Cru Selections
George Sparks, Alma Carraovejas
Chris Thompson, Chef
